I live in Smarden with my husband Ed. We have been married for 26 years and have three wonderful grown up daughters. I am Headteacher of Sissinghurst Primary School.

As a family, we have always loved travelling and since leaving home, all three girls have continued to travel the world and take on new challenges, including climbing to base camp, Everest.

I loved my visit to Africa in 2012 and was keen to return. I have always wanted to climb Kilimanjaro, so when the opportunity arose I jumped at the chance!

I believe stongly in the work of Starfish Malawi and the schools' linking projects. My school has a link with a school in Kusungu and I have seen the impact that this has on the education of pupils both in Malawi and at home here in the UK. Which is why
